Appeal: Heritage of MAMC

Dear friends,

The year 2008 is a special one in the history of Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) as we are in the process of celebrating our Golden Jubilee.

There is no other medical school across the world which has a strong heritage as that of ours. We as proud Maulanian belong to a land which has its history that dates back to 1350 AD. Our campus and its surroundings are witness to many historical sagas which makes us feel proud and yet we are humbled by this history. This campus is on a land which has its mentions almost two hundred years prior to Shahjahanabad.

We are the proud inmates of a jail which existed as a torture house just before creation of MAMC. There are many other aspects of our campus. In order to strengthened our legacy and to project our bequest , we are planning to make a MAMC museum in the golden year 2008. In this regards we are collecting various literatures pertaining to any activity related to the campus e.g. previous issues of Spandan, Synergy, periodicals etc.

We appeal to all Maulanian to submit any relevant photograph, or document which they feel would be of use for the museum as their contribution. The photograph if approved by the committee will be displayed in the museum. Some of the photographs will be reprinted in the book which we are planning to publish with due acknowledgement of the contributors.

We also appeal to submit any important piece of information relevant to this campus to us so that others may also share such observations.

Finally we are also planning to highlight major achievements of various students of this campus in any sphere of life e.g, sports, dramatics, films, military, medicine or any other field. If you know of some one whose name deserves to be in this list, please communicate us with his/ her credentials or contacts.
